Yayyy!!  I won 2nd place at the Enigma Hearts Art contest in Downtown St. Pete!

This was so exciting!  Thanks to my boss at Pinot's Palette for signing me up!

The photo above shows me with my winning painting Pieces of Me.  The two smaller are details of the painting.

But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday

"Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing, that's all that Bobby left me, yeah,
But feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
Hey, feeling good was good enough for me, hmm hmm,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

La la la, la la la la, la la la, la la la la

La la la la la Bobby McGee."  -Janis Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970)

Today's Song: Amy Winehouse's, "Tears Dry On Their Own"

This painting was done in a rush in 2008 for a show that was rapidly approaching.  I would still like to add more detail to this.. maybe some color.. or text.. what do you think?  It's currently on sale in my shop.

"We don't usually hear about the average person who dies from drugs or alcohol; it's only the person who has risen to fame who draws the attention.

There are many people suffering from addiction all over the world; no matter the cause of their substance abuse, all should be met with compassion and understanding. More foundations, such as the Amy Winehouse Foundation, are desperately needed to save individuals headed down the road to an untimely and tragic death." - K.C. Dermody  Yahoo! Amy Jade Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) joins Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain in the eerie 27Club.  All great musicians who died at age 27.

Waiting for Tomorrow Robs You of Your Dreams for Today

Waiting for tomorrow robs you of your dreams for today.  So true.  This gets me motivated every time I see it.   I got this quote from the book "Deal Breakers: When to Work on a Relationship and When to Walk Away"  by Bethany Marshall.

Simple black acrylic on white canvas.
